Are YOU ready for the first FIS Alpine World Cup Giant Slalom race of 2019?

Adelboden, Switzerland Saturday, January 12th

Our top gun Philipp Schörghofe is well prepared for one of his favourite races in Adelboden, Switzerland. He spent the Christmas festive period with his family and their three-year-old son and after that, he’s been getting ready for the upcoming races.

Adelboden is known for its excellent race course, but even more for the great atmosphere and the large numbers of spectators, it attracts. It’s not a surprise that Abelboden is one of Schörgi’s favourite races. Last time he raced there, in the 2016-2017 season he came 3rd. This season, after the Saalbach race, Schörgi has paid particular attention to the timing of his turns to gain more speed in each and every turn. This time he doesn’t have his expectations set as high as in the previous races: He aims to finish in the top 15, making his way back to the top.

It has been snowing heavily over the past weeks in the Alps, and the snow conditions are fantastic in Adelboden. The weather forecast looks promising for the Giant Slalom Race on Saturday. Let’s hope that the weather remains good over the whole weekend, however, right now it seems like after the giant slalom race the snowfall will again pick up and make conditions challenging for the slalom race on Sunday.

We wish you all the best for 2019! And Good Luck to Schörgi in Adelboden. The race starts at 10:30 CET tomorrow Jan 12th.
